TiE Dallas – Initiatives and Updates

Hello All,

This communication is going out to a select few men and women that I have had the privilege of getting to know, respect and admire – for your vision, achievements and leadership. These are individuals from the Dallas-FortWorth area, from around the country and the globe, within and outside the TiE ecosystem. Here at TiE Dallas, we have had a number of great initiatives launched and being run successfully with the active support and engagement of our great core team and Charter Members; Details are here ->  of our past and future events along with their coverages  and a picture gallery. Briefly, some of these initiatives include

• TiE Tuesday pitch events 4th Tuesday of every month (presentations from various local and global startups)
• ‘State of the Industry’ series we have started with an opening session on the Oil & Gas industry with others to follow
• The Ventures program that gets deals funneled into it from Pitch events  – deals that some of us have invested in and/or taken advisory positions in
• Youth Discussion Panel – to dialogue with the younger generation of tech (and other) leaders and entrepreneurs to address key issues facing society
• TYE (The Young Entrepreneur Program) running its 8th year currently (started on March 1 with the Dallas finale planned for June 21st)
• Special Presentations (such as on Covid-19 Stimulus packages, Venture Financing Post Covid, talk by Local and State Civic leaders, Mindfulness – lessons from a Navy Seal  etc)
• TiE Women – initiative with the support of the global TiE Women program

We are excited to be able to bring quality programs and initiatives for our membership’s benefit. The organization strives to promote, nurture and support entrepreneurship in the community. We are always looking for greater engagement, participation and leadership for several of our initiatives. Not only do you become part of the local chapter, but you get ready access to a global network of chapters, programs and individuals. Broadly speaking, our objectives are to:

1. Highlight / showcase achievements of successful entrepreneurs in the DFW area and elsewhere, as role models
2. Design, plan and execute programs and events that specifically supports the encouragement and growth of entrepreneurs-  including access to capital, mentoring, coaching etc.
3. Other areas of specific importance and support to the community

I am appealing to you specifically as follows:

• For those in the Dallas metroto engage, participate and help provide leadership to specific programs (some of you have been involved and been amazingly supportive ). While it is mostly voluntary, with some level of time commitment, the benefits and satisfaction you would get from being associated with these initiatives would be well worth it.
• For those in other cities in the US and elsewhere, to consider participating as well – as in today’s world with things going virtual, your location is not a barrier anymore and this would be a great networking opportunity with fellow entrepreneurs, and some extraordinary men and women.
• To the TiE chapters from other cities to collaborate with, exchange ideas, and offer guidance, support and advice to each other to create a vibrant chapter here in Dallas.
